The USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project is committed to ensuring that all procured health supplies are of the highest quality in line with U.S. government regulations and requirements for testing, sampling, storage, and handling by commodity type and country of delivery.
Our in-house Quality Assurance team handles the regulatory and quality assurance processes for all malaria commodities procured under this project. GHSC-PSM has sole responsibility for ensuring all malaria commodities comply with international standards for quality, safety, and efficacy. With end-to-end quality assurance/quality control oversight of the entire supply chain, the GHSC-PSM QA team:
- maintains a list of pre-qualified products, which limits products eligible for tenders
- implements product‐specific sampling protocols
- ensures proper handling, transport, and storage through the chain of custody
- follows protocol for out-of-specification results and, if necessary, a process for quarantine, product recall, and/or suspension
The project also ensures that its freight forwarders and regional warehouses operate in compliance with quality assurance requirements, and manages product recalls for HIV/AIDS and maternal, child, and reproductive health-related commodities in cooperation with the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Quality Assurance (GHSC-QA) project as applicable.
